All dance classes (with the exception of the 1/2 hour tumbling class) perform in the recital. The number of dances your child performs varies with the amount of instruction per week. Each pre-school class and each 5 yr. old. Tap/tumbling class perform 1 dance routine in the recital.  The Combination (tap/ballet/tumbling) classes (6 & 7 yr. olds) perform 2 routines.  Each 1/2 hour, 45 minute or 1 hour class perform one routine for each class.  This exciting and elaborate show demonstrates your child’s progress.  

    Participation is optional, but strongly encouraged.  Company dancers perform an extra routine for their Company class.  Dance team members perfect numerous competition routines throughout the year.   These routines are presented, for your enjoyment, in a special Showcase before the regular show begins.  A $40.00 recital fee is charged in March to pay for auditorium rental, lighting, sound, stagehands, scenery and all show related expenses.  No admission is charged.  Costumes average $75.00 per costume (sometimes a costume comes with additional parts to add or take away to make that costume function for 2 routines instead of one.) 

    We discuss costume cost in September and you can make monthly payments if you wish.  All costume money must be paid by December 15th.  We also hold two fundraisers per year to help, those who wish to participate, defray these costs.  We also now take Visa and MasterCard Debit and Credit cards.  We do our recitals on a biennial basis. Our 2008 Recital will be held at the Riverton Fine Arts Center on June 7th., 2008.

Saturday & Sunday  - Convention and Competition - Southern Association of Dance Masters in Olive Branch, MS. at the Whispering Woods Hotel - 662-895-2941 Room rate is $109.00  for a double + tax. More information on the hotel and its location are available on the SADM web site:  www.sadm.org.  The schedule of events are as follows testing for membership is at Sat. Oct. 18th. 2:30 pm, Competition is Oct. 18th. 5:00 pm. Sunday Oct. 19th. Junior Membership meeting 8:30 am. Workshop classes begin Oct. 19th. 9:00 am. Fees are as follows:  Junior Member $50.00, Students of a member $55.00, Members Assistant $75.00, Member $80.00.  Competition fees:  Solo = $35.00, Duo & Trio = $25.00 each, Small Group = $20.00 each. Observer Fee $35.00.     All fees must be turned in to Kathy by Sunday Sept. 28t

Nov. 22nd  Saturday - Festival of Trees - in the Orr Bldg., at the Fairgrounds.  Performance 12:00 noon

Nov. 23rd - Nov. 30th - The Studio is closed for Thanksgiving Holiday.

Dec. 22nd - Jan. 4th.  - The Studio is closed for Christmas Vacation.  Classes resume Saturday January 5th.

Summer Dance Session Begins June **exact date will be posted later.** and is a 6 week session that ends the week of --------- All members of the Dance Teams and Dance Company are required to attend Dance Team and Dance Company classes during the summer session.  Abby Donaldson, Ashley Romines and possibly other teachers will offer private lessons. Summertime is a great time to work on skills that need attention or progress at an accelerated rate. Sign up now.

Optional Convention and Competition - Southern Association of Dance Masters Convention and Competition in Memphis, TN. July 11th - 13th. At the Memphis Hilton Hotel. Room rate is $106.00 plus a 15.25% tax. Deadline for booking is June 26th. Competition is Friday night July 11th. Dance Convention on Saturday and Sunday with a Banquet on Saturday night .

Register now for the regular dance season beginning the Monday after Labor Day.  Our annual shoe fitting and dancewear sale will be the week of August 18th. 19th. and 20th., 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm each evening.  Pre-schoolers and 5 year olds are scheduled for Monday, Combination class dancers and students in Thursday Level I classes or Monday Level II classes on Tuesday. All other dancers are scheduled for Wednesday.  This is a guideline only so everyone will not come at once on the same night.  If you can not make your time slot you may come on one of the others.
